Scheme Overview
Kerala's social security pensions give a monthly pension to people who have little or no other support. There are five main pensions: old age, agricultural labour, disability, widow, and pension for unmarried women above 50. The rate was raised from ₹1,600 to ₹2,000 a month from 1 November 2025. Pensions are sanctioned by the local panchayat or municipality and paid every month into the bank account or at home through cooperative banks. In September 2026 pensions were sanctioned for about 52 lakh people.
